Questions Worth Asking
Traditional saunas heat the air around you to high temperatures, typically using a wood-burning or electric stove and sauna rocks, producing a classic dry or steam environment. Infrared saunas use radiant heat panels to warm the body more directly at lower ambient temperatures, which many people find gentler for longer sessions. Your choice comes down to the experience you prefer — the enveloping heat of a classic sauna room or the quieter, more measured warmth of infrared.
Contrast therapy — alternating between heat and cold exposure — is one of the most established practices in thermal wellness, used across Scandinavian bath culture and modern recovery environments alike. A typical protocol moves from a sauna session into a cold plunge, then allows a period of rest before repeating. The specific timing and number of cycles is a personal variable best discussed with a qualified health professional, as individual tolerance and health history matter.
Outdoor saunas, particularly barrel and cube designs in cedar, integrate naturally into a garden or yard and often accommodate more people, making them well suited to social or family use. Indoor models are ideal when outdoor space is limited or when year-round climate control is a priority. Both configurations require a suitable electrical supply, so reviewing the voltage and amperage requirements before purchase is an important early step.

About Our Best Sellers
The best sellers within the thermal wellness category represent a considered cross-section of heat, cold, and light — the three environmental variables that form the basis of modern contrast therapy and intentional recovery practice. These are products designed for the home, built to bring the discipline of a professional wellness environment into a private setting. Infrared and traditional saunas address the heat component, each through a distinct mechanism and aesthetic. Cold plunge systems introduce the cold variable, ranging from compact personal units to larger capacity tubs suited to dedicated wellness spaces. Red light therapy panels complete the category, designed to deliver specific wavelengths of near-infrared and red light for those who incorporate photobiomodulation into their routine. A buyer entering this space for the first time should consider available space, intended use — solo practice or shared — power supply requirements, and how each piece integrates into an existing or planned wellness area. Quality of materials, heating performance, temperature range, and long-term build integrity are the criteria worth prioritising above all else.
